Pin vs Skewer

What's the difference between a pin and a skewer?

Choose the right answer

  1. Nothing — same tactic
  2. Pin: valuable piece is BEHIND. Skewer: valuable piece is IN FRONT
  3. Pins only work with bishops
  4. Skewers only attack kings

Pin: valuable piece is BEHIND. Skewer: valuable piece is IN FRONT

In a pin, the shielded piece behind is more valuable. In a skewer, the front piece is forced to move, exposing the one behind.
